Tom Cruise is spending quality time with his daughter Suri. The 50-year-old actor took his 6-year-old daughter to East Hampton, New York, for a “beach vacation” on July 19.

Father and daughter spend just a few hours in East Hampton. Soon they chartered a helicopter back to New York City mid-afternoon. Later that day, Holmes escorted Suri to her gymnastics class at Chelsea Piers.

Tom saw Suri for the first this week after the divorce. The reason is purely logistical. “Tom was shooting a film on location, but he spoke to Suri every day. Tom dearly loves Suri, and the last thing he would ever do is abandon her”, his attorney, Bert Fields said.

A source close to Tom Cruise revealed that he loves his daughter, but he is afraid to lose her.

Katie Holmes filed for divorce on June 28 after five years of marriage.
