His Royal Highness has arrived. Kate Middleton gave birth to a baby boy at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Monday, July 22.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm. The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry & families have been told and are delighted. It looks like the newly mom and her son “are both doing well”.
The official announcement has been placed on the wood and gold easel behind the gates of Buckingham Palace.
So far the baby’s name remains unknown. Kate and her husband, Prince William “may take some time” before choosing a name. Previously, it took Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip one month to name Prince Charles.
Kate and William tied the knot in April 2011. They made the pregnancy announcement in December 2012.
