Melissa Etheridge Custody Battle Gets Rough

Melissa Etheridge custody battle with former domestic partner Tammy Lynn Michaels is getting rough. After Michaels said that the $23,000 a month, how much Melissa is currently paying her in partner and child support is not enough.

In response, Etheridge filed legal docs claiming Michaels accidentally burned one of their kids with a cigarette. Etheridge wants to convince the judge to order both her and Michaels to gave up smoking or at least to stop smoking around their twins.  Etheridge is also upset that Michaels has accused her of having no maternal instinct and calls her “angry and vindictive”.

Etheridge added that  Michaels once sent her an email saying, “You have to support so many households because YOU BROKE SO MANY HOUSEHOLDS, silly.  If you had decided to have one ounce of integrity/honesty as a person or partner, you would NOT be in this predicament. Think about it”. She also added another e-mail which says, “They aren’t leaving my care while you are on the road, a completely inappropriate place for 3-year-olds, not to mention you can’t track them, have no child care, and they were bit by dogs in the house last time you had them”.

Melissa Etheridge  is asking a judge for more time with the kids.

Previously  Michaels filed her own docs asking for more money from Etheridge. The former actress, who has “virtually no savings”, claims that  Etheridge is brainwashing the kids by keeping them away from her and she’s also cursing around the kids. Michaels also claims that her former partner refuses to let the kids get vaccinated.

A hearing is set for May 22.

Etheridge and  Michaels became engaged in 2003. In April 2006, Etheridge and Michaels announced that Michaels was pregnant with twins via an anonymous sperm donor. Michaels gave birth to a daughter, Johnnie Rose, and a son, Miller Steven, on October 17, 2006. The two separated in April 2010.
