Katherine Heigl adopts second daughter
Katherine Heigl adopts second daughter. As we announced you yesterday, the former ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actress and her husband Josh Kelley have adopted their second child. Yesterday the detail of the baby’s gender was still unknown. But today we can let you know they have another daughter. The news was confirmed by the 33-year-old actress’ representative for Us Weekly.
“Josh and I started talking about [adoption] before we were even engaged. My sister Meg is Korean, and my parents adopted her three years before I was born. I wanted my own family to resemble the one I came from, so I always knew I wanted to adopt from Korea”, Heigl told Scholastic Parent & Child in February.
The couple adopted their first daughter, 3-year-old Naleigh from South Korea in 2009.
Heigl admitted that 32-year-old Kelley “had to learn” to accept the adoption at first. “But he was so gracious and accepting” in the end.
The actress revealed they have considered having biological children as well. “I just wanted to be a mom. So however we did that, it’s fine with me. I’d like to adopt again”, she said at the time. And she did it again.
Heigl and Kelley were married in 2007.
Honestly, this adoption sounds like Heigl and Kelley have some issue they believe a new baby could solve. But even though this might be true, Heigl seems like a good mother and she has just saved another human being from living without a family. Congratulation!
