Joe Nichols welcomes daughter Dylan River. The country crooner and his wife Heather are the newly parents of a baby girl who arrived a little bit early. The healthy baby girl was delivered at 1:22 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, weighing in at 7 lbs., 5 oz. and is 21¼ inches long.

“Joe and I have prayed for this day for such a long time. We are truly blessed”, Heather told People.

Joe met Heather when they were both 19-year-old and they were married in 2007. A month later the singer, who had previously struggled with substance abuse, entered rehab. After he become clean and sober, the two tried for a baby. In early 2008, Heather suffered a miscarriage before embarking on fertility treatments.

This past February, the couple, both 35, announced that they were expecting a baby. As for the baby’s name, Heather’s mom explained the special meaning. “Dylan was inspired by Heather’s childhood friend Dylan who passed away after college. She says she has felt his presence as her guardian angel since. River comes from the song Joe sang to Heather on their wedding day, ‘That Would Be Her’, which Heather listened to over and over during her fertility treatments”, the happy grandmother explained.

“This is one of the most humbling and remarkable experiences. Heather is amazing, and I am just so thankful our little girl is here. She is truly a miracle”, the happy father added.

The happy family also shared the first photo of their “miracle” while being hold by her tired mother.
