Elizabeth Banks welcomes second son via surrogate
Elizabeth Banks has become a mother again. The 38-year-old actress and husband Max Handelman recently welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell Handelman.
“As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful – personal, professional, and Presidential. However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy”, the actress wrote in her website on November 14.
Magnus Mitchell joins big brother, 20-month-old Felix. Both boys were born via gestational surrogate. “This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime”, the actress said about using a surrogate mother.
The actress has always been open about her struggle to become pregnant. “It was a womb issue for me. Embryos wouldn’t implant”, she said this year.
The actress met her husband in 1992. They tied the knot in 2003.
