Drew Barrymore daughter: Why we named her Olive

Drew Barrymore knew the name of her baby when she was just three months pregnant. Invited on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, the actress revealed how she decided to name her daughter Olive. The actress was reading a book and she found out the baby was the size of an Olive. “And that was it. We never looked back”, Drew said.

Of course that Ellen joked about Drew’s decision. “It could have been the size of a peanut or a grapefruit” or even “a kidney bean”, she joked. “It could have been. It was a lot of fruits and vegetables. Kidney’s not such a fun name”, the 37-year-old actress joked back.

Talking about her 10-week-old daughter, Drew said the baby is “a good baby. I count my lucky stars every day because she is . . . really interactive and happy and like nice to people. She’s a nice person”.

Baby Olive arrived on September 26. She is the actress’ first child with husband Will Kopelman. The two parents married just a few months before their baby was born.
