Carla Bruni Welcomes a Baby Girl

C’est une fille! Carla Bruni-Sarkozy made everyone a surprise and she gave birth to a baby girl on October 19, Le Figaro reported.

So far the happy father, French President Nicolas Sarkozy refused to reveal the name of their newborn daughter.  One thing is for sure: the President was not present when the baby was born. He was in Frankfurt debating possible solutions to the euro zone crisis.
During one visit in the town of Mayenne in France,the President revealed he would like to keep the arrival of their first child together a private matter. He added that he would leave Carla Bruni to announce the baby’s name.
“All of you who are parents can understand the very deep joy that Carla and I feel. Each one of you can also understand that it’s an even deeper joy because it is private. We have been lucky to have a very happy event take place. I will just keep to these few brief words to say to you that they are doing very well”, he said
43-year-old Carla Bruni is already mother to 10-year-old son Aurelian with a former lover, the philosopher, Rafael Enthoven. The President is also a father to sons, 26-year-old Pierre and Jean, 25, from his first marriage to Marie-Dominique Culioli, and a third, 14-year-old Louis, from his second to Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz.
Carla Bruni, a former model and actress married Nicholas Sarkozy in February 2008.
